“High School Musical” hunk Zac Efron secures a spot in the annual list of the World’s 100 Most Influential People in 2009 compiled by Time magazine. He is credited for his “subtlety and vulnerability” in movie industry as he is considered not only an actor but also an artist. “Zac and I shot a movie called ‘Me and Orson Welles’ about a year ago on the Isle of Man,” actress Claire Danes recalls her first meeting with the young actor.

“As soon as Zac arrived, it seemed more like the Isle of Teenage Girls…I couldn’t help being reminded of the time I had spent with another gifted idol, , about a decade before,” she continues. “I saw the simmering ardor of the teenage masses turn into unbridled hysteria after ‘Titanic’ was released. But this was even more intense. The difference, I realized, was that Zac is not only an actor but also a musician, a bona fide song-and-dance man. We ladies are defenseless against such a combination.”

Time magazine’s annual list of the World’s 100 Most Influential People is compiled based on five professions, including Leaders & Revolutionaries, Builders & Titans, Artists & Entertainers, Heroes & Icons, and also Scientists & Thinkers. Beside Zac, other entertainers who are considered as the World’s Most Influential People include , , , Jay Leno, , Tina Fey, and . Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, First Lady Michelle Obama, French President Nicolas Sarkozy, and British Prime Minister Gordon Brown are also in the list.
